Phnom Penh: Khmer Krom demand release of Venerable Tim Sakhorn

Over sixty seven Buddhist monks and fifty followers have conducted a peaceful demonstration at Samakirangsey temple in Phnom Penh, early Friday 17th August 2007.

The protestors demanded that the Vietnam release defrocked monk, Tim Sakhorn to Cambodia after being arrested by border officials.

He is now facing charges for attempting to undermine the relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam, one that has resulted in his initial defrocking earlier in Cambodia.

Protests are expected to continue in USA and Canada.
