KKF Commemorates UNPO Membership Day

On Sunday, August 5, 2007 the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation (KKF) Chapter of Washington State and Oregon State commemorate the acceptance into the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) on July 15, 2001.

The event was held at the Wat Chantarangsey in the city of Tacoma, Washington. Residents and members of the KKF Chapter of Washington and Oregon came together to commemorate the day KKF became a member of UNPO.

Since its membership in 2001, the KKF organization has become an international phenomenal. The endless days of human rights campaigns within the United States and around the world has inspired and educated many Khmers and Khmer-Krom people about the human rights mechanisms available to help their beloved people in Kampuchea-Krom.

In the first instance, many nations and states rejected our claims of suffering but now they are helping us to find ways to help Khmer Krom on behalf of KKF. As members, we are glad to be part of an organization that care about human life and the life of every living being on this small planet. KKF believes that in order to live in peace, that government in power must bring peace and freedom to the people; not the other way around.

In short, KKF chapter of Washington and Oregon would like to express our sincere appreciation for everyone’s continued support. KKF doesn’t ask much but we believe that if every Khmer and Khmer-Krom overseas can give $1 a day to help fight for our cause both in Cambodia and Kampuchea-Krom then liberation and freedom shall be a realization in no time.
