On behalf of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation and Khmer Krom people around the world, we would like to acknowledge and announce our support towards the recognition of Cambodia’s Keo-Sikha-Kiri-Svarak (or also known as Wat Prasath Preah Vihear) as a World Heritage site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

When people visit San Francisco, they usually just want to visit China Town, the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge or Peer 39. What most people do not realize that it is a historical place that in which United Nations Charter Signing Ceremony was conducted. This significant event happened in a place called “Herbst Theatre” which forms part of the War Memorial Performing Arts Center and across the street from San Francisco City Hall on Van Ness Avenue. The Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation, an indigenous organization representing millions of Khmer Krom people in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, as well as Human Rights Watch, a human rights organization are calling for the release and return of Tim Sakhorn to Cambodia without conditions or “probationary detention”.

The representatives of KKFYC attended the 8th World Convention, the three days session, of the KKF held at the city of Denver, Colorado, on June 6th – 8th, 2008. The theme of this convention is the “The Long March to Kampuchea-Krom Motherland”. The topics covering in this convention include: Report KKF’s activities in the past four years, Elect new KKF Board of Directors, Financial Report, Presentation about Human Rights and Religious Freedom.
Members of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation, Mr. Lenny Thach, Mr. Duong Hoang and Mr. Ricky Tran have attended the Media Advisory at Cannon Terrace, Washington D.C. on June 19th 2008.
Amongst the speakers present included Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), VN caucus Co-chair, Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), VN Caucus Co-chair, Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), VN Caucus -Co-chair and Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations.
A special message from the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation President, Mr. Thach Ngoc Thach on the significance of Khmer Krom Day or Tivea Khmer Krom which is commemorate on 4th of June every year.
Three members from the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation (KKF), Mr. Prak Sereivuth, Mr. Thach Lenny, and Mr. Duong Hoang, were honored to be invited by the National Endownment for Democracy to attend the Banquet Reception during the presentation of the Democracy Service Medal to Ambassador Max Kampelman at the Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the U.S. State Department in Washington, DC on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

IX UNPO General Assembly

The IX UNPO General Assembly was organised at the European Parliament with full attendance of UNPO Members and delegates from all over the world. After two days of discussing the new political common vision of the organization, it was decided to profoundly restructure the Preamble of the Covenant of the organisation, the political driving force of UNPO.
United Nations Day of Vesak Appeal by KKF

On behalf of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation, we would like to bring to your attention the issue of our Khmer Krom Buddhist monks Venerable TT Dhammo,from Ontario, Canada and Venerable Rong Be, from California, USA. were denied entry to participate at the United Nations Day of Vesak which falls on 13 May to 17 May in Hanoi, Vietnam.
WASHINGTON D.C. - On May 14 2008, members of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation, Mr. Sereivuth Prak and Mr. Lenny Thach headed to Washington DC to attend the U.S. Congressional Caucus on the Hearing on "Human Rights Conditions in Vietnam and Suggestions for the U.S. -- Vietnam Human Rights Dialogue."
